Good: This formula has all natural ingredients that will instantly work to reduce inflammation, fight against bacteria, and shrink the pores to give you the almost instant results you are looking for. It will help you to get rid of your acne in a short period of time and otherwise deal with your acne fighting problems as a whole. The 12 Hour Miracle Acne Treatment is definitely capable of greater things.

Bad: It is mostly a spot treatment.

Overall: This formula easily fits in your back pocket to be used wherever you go. It can help you to get rid of your acne and achieve greater results so that you can stop stressing before your big events when acne inevitably pops up, and you will never worry about finding another spot treatment again.

2. Accutane

A famous prescription medication, Accutane is known for its extreme results for tough and stubborn cases of acne. It is a pill form of vitamin A and it apparently stops oil production to stop acne. It has also been used to treat even more severe cases that fall outside of that of acne vulgaris for example. It has been used in high doses to treat various problems.

Good: This formula actually works. When acne has responded to nothing else, Accutane is used because it will get to the root cause in many cases, even preventing scars and other problems. It was introduced as a breakthrough in acne fighting technology.

Bad: It is only used in the worst cases for a reason. Even though it works for most people, it comes with some daunting side effects to say the least. Many are understandably scared to use it, and frankly it can cause long term side effects that never actually go away, even with extended periods of not using it.

Overall: Accutane is tightly controlled for a reason. It’s not just dry or irritated skin, it’s much more serious problems, because your skin and your body need a certain amount of those oils, and Accutane takes it all away. Some have experienced worse breakouts in general terms with Accutane, and all in all it’s not worth your efforts.

3. Acne Free

Acne Free is a popular brand of products copying Proactiv essentially speaking. Except of course, they use a formula that is just as powerful and actually provides greater results according to clinical studies. They sell through grocery stores across America, and Acne Free in some ways has overtaken the original Proactiv.

Good: Acne Free has benzoyl peroxide too. In fact, its formula is virtually identical to Proactiv. But it sells at a relatively cheaper price than does Proactiv giving you greater value for your money. I mean why not get the same thing for a cheaper price, especially if it has a proven ingredient such as benzoyl peroxide.

Bad: Acne Free is not different from Proactiv. It doesn’t work for everybody, and frankly it causes quite a few side effects. Many have actually complained that Acne Free caused even worse side effects, probably because they may well use more harmful fillers that happen to be cheaper, which is partly due to the lower price.

Overall: You don’t have to spend a fortune to get a good acne treatment. However, you do have to spend a little bit of time looking for something more original. Many try Acne Free in hopes that it will work better than Proactiv at a cheaper price. But what they find is that either the results are exactly the same or they aren’t nearly as good. We would not recommend Acne Free.

4. Acne Free Severe

Acne Free Severe is a product found in grocery stores that is supposed to be an upgrade of the original Acne Free. Acne Free is apparently supposed to be better than Proactiv. But Acne Free Severe is meant to be better than either one, and it can work for more serious and severe cases of acne than you experienced or could fight with Acne Free.

Good: They use an ingredient called retinol. This form of vitamin A will encourage the skin cells to replace and overturn themselves at a higher rate of action. So this means that you will potentially be able to get rid of more acne than you would with benzoyl peroxide alone.

Bad: Unfortunately, this formula will still cause the side effects associated with benzoyl peroxide as well as those associated with retinol. Moreover, adding one ingredient doesn’t suddenly make it overwhelmingly powerful or anything like that. This formula actually shows the same results or in other words it doesn’t really show results for many people.

Overall: We would not recommend using Acne Free Severe. It’s not worth your time or money and it won’t actually give you the results you are looking for. It isn’t any better than the original Acne Free, and it may well cause more side effects. That is about the only real difference.

5. Acnepril

Acnepril is an internal acne solution that uses the power of detoxifiers, vitamins, and ingredients that will balance out the hormones to give you greater results. They claim this will get at the source of acne instead of just scratching at the surface and therefore it will give you greater results as a whole. They claim that finally you will be able to get rid of even the most stubborn cases of acne.

Good: Acnepril has a winning blend of ingredients. These will help you to finally get at the internal problem associated with acne. Supplementing with vitamins will also balance out the skin and help you to simultaneously avoid some of the side effects associated with a detox. Finally, the fact that it balances out the hormones is a first and truly gets at the source. It’s formula is all natural to say the least and will produce results you haven’t seen with any product before.

Bad: nothing

Overall: This product is almost too perfect. But it pulls through truly giving you the results that you want and need. It has all the right ingredients and a proven mechanism of action that will get at even the most stubborn of acne in general. You don’t have to use this as a last resort, it can be used for any case of acne, and we suggest you do use it first.

6. Acneticin

Acneticin is a powerful internal supplement that will help you to get rid of your acne and keep it away. It clears your body of toxins, balances with vitamins and minerals, and finally controls your hormones for greater results in general. This formula is apparently supposed to clear even nasty cases of acne in just a few days while giving you various other promise in general terms.

Good: Acneticin has the right ingredients to give you an all natural cleanse and supplementation for your greater acne fighting needs. It can quickly eliminate your acne and give you all the greater benefits in general that you need without causing side effects or other problems, and there are not really other formulas that measure up in so many ways.

Bad: Others can’t really compete with this formula, so that’s bad for them.

Overall: We would definitely recommend using this product. It has the right ingredients, the right amounts, and everything else you might need for greater success as a whole. It can help you to quickly and efficiently get rid of even the toughest cases of acne, and this formula does not by any means have to be a last resort. You can use it and only it if you so choose.

7. Aczone

Aczone is a prescription acne gel meant to be used in mild to moderate cases of acne. They use a 5% concentration of dapsone, one ingredient that you will only find in prescriptions, and they claim it is effective using SMP technology, in the treatment of acne even in stubborn cases. It has been through studies, and it apparently doesn’t bleach clothes or skin for that matter.

Good: This formula works in 2 weeks rather than the standard 8-12 associated with most other prescriptions. It comes without the general severe side effects such as bleach spots on your clothes, and frankly it has been shown in a certain number of cases to actually work.

Bad: It still causes redness, dryness, oiliness, and peeling among other varying side effects, and it definitely doesn’t work in every case. Moreover, 2 weeks is a long time to wait in comparison to many over the counter products that work far better in general terms.

Overall: You could do so much better than Aczone in general. It definitely doesn’t work, and it doesn’t give you the results as a whole that you are looking for. Aczone leaves a lot to be desired, and it goes without saying that you could find something better.

8. AssoBar

AssoBar is the only bar made up of pure gold. It is quite literally the most luxurious bar soap anybody has ever been able to find, and it has already helped thousands to get the results they wanted without all the hassle. AssoBar is apparently capable of giving you the acne fighting secret of queens without actually costing you a fortune.

Good: They have 24k gold in the mix, which is the best antioxidant yet discovered for the skin. It kills off bacteria, free radicals, and otherwise to give you the beautiful, clear, and glowing skin that you want. This formula is also filled with those ingredients that will soothe your skin and repair it from past damage so that you don’t have to deal with those particular problems either.

Bad: They don’t have other more specific acne treatments such as tea tree oil.

Overall: Frankly, this formula is not the traditional acne treatment. It’s not the traditional soap by any means. It is luxurious however and gives you something that no other bar soap or other treatment in general that can give you.

9. Avecix

Avecix is a tea tree oil based acne fighting gel with the awesome power to give you the results you want. It can target both the zits that plague you now as well as the blackheads that cause future outbreaks among other things. This formula can apparently give you the extra kick you need after your wash to really clear up your acne and get on with your life.

Good: This formula uses 5% tea tree oil. This ingredient is actually clinically proven and can actually give you the results you want. It can help you to achieve greater results in general and you can get rid of your zits and essentially speaking get on with your life. With Avecix, you get an irritant free formula that will take care of all your needs in general terms.

Bad: There is no bad with Avecix

Overall: Avecix is an impressive acne fighting formula that gives you greater results in general and as a whole. It will help you to quickly get rid of your acne, clear your face, and otherwise improve your skin to be in a state that you may have never before imagined without having to struggle or otherwise.

10. Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is the most popular acne fighting ingredient on the market. It is used in literally hundreds of different products. Some of them are generally sold through prescription outlets and others through over the counter outlets. This is quite literally the best known and most commonly used treatment for any type of acne.

Good: Benzoyl peroxide can be used in ranges of 5-10%. It has been known to kill off bacteria, clear acne, and otherwise give you greater results as a whole without actually causing the same struggle some others would in terms of waiting. It of course is stronger in certain varieties, and you could buy it in products ranging from $5-$100, though we would recommend $5.

Bad: Unfortunately, benzoyl peroxide makes the skin a harsh environment for bacteria and for you. It damages the skin causing burning, itching, dryness, redness, peeling, and various other side effects, and it can even make acne worse in some cases. Unfortunately, if you ever stop using it, the skin becomes a prime place for bacteria to develop at that time meaning that you will actually experience a sudden and severe breakout right after using it in general terms.

Overall: We would not recommend using benzoyl peroxide based products. Most products only use a small amount, less than the required 5% to be quite frank, and even though those small amounts don’t work in any case, they still cause side effects. This formula can bleach clothes, so you can imagine what it does to your skin. However, there are plenty of other powerful options.

11. Biodermagen

Biodermagen has been called “Oxy-10 on steroids.” It is a small bottle of gel that can be used to clear up your acne as a spot treatment or for that matter to be used after a wash on small spots that happen to be giving you trouble at that time. This review will go over the facts and decide whether it’s the results or the side effects that Biodermagen would mimic.

Good: They have what’s called Hydronium 55. This is essentially speaking an antioxidant extracted from water. It will penetrate deeply into your pores and get at the bacteria and other problems that are often responsible for your acne with a cooling feeling that will not actually damage the skin or irritate. It’s all natural, and it will even rejuvenate your skin.

Bad: Hydronium 55 is still fairly new. So there are things to still be studied and questions to still be answered in general.

Overall: This formula definitely has promise, and just because something is new doesn’t mean it should be avoided. In this case, it could very well be the next big revolution in acne treatment, and it wouldn’t be a bad thing to try. It seems harmless yet powerful, and we would recommend looking into it.

12. Biodermazen

Biodermazen is apparently supposed to be similar to Accutane using an internal pill that will apparently get rid of your acne and give you individualized results that you are actually looking for. They claim that this will help you to clear up your acne without irritation and while getting at the actual source of your acne and taking a different approach in general terms.

Good: Biodermazen works from the inside. It uses a number of detoxifiers which will get rid of the toxins that are often causing your acne. In addition, they use some antioxidants which can kill off bacteria and others germs that again may well be contributing to and even causing some degree of your acne.

Bad: They don’t have the vitamins and minerals that would be necessary to supplement your body and skin. When toxins leave, they take vitamins with them, and in some way a really great supplement needs to be able to replace those.

Overall: Biodermazen is not a bad product, in fact it’s a pretty good acne fighter to say the least. However, it is not complete as we see it. So if you do take this formula, take a multivitamin with it just to cover all your bases. It stands leaps and bounds above various others however, which is saying something to some degree. So it’s definitely worth checking out.

13. Boscia Clear Complexion Kit

Boscia Clear Complexion Kit includes a cleanser, tonic, and a moisturizer, and frankly it uses a few major ingredients such as jojoba oil, white willow bark, and rosemary extract to apparently clear your skin with a multi piece kit that combines for the best possible results.

Good: Boscia Clear Complexion Kit has all natural and gentle ingredients in general terms. They don’t harm the skin like benzoyl peroxide would, and they can kill off bacteria to some degree with some essential oils while reducing inflammation with white willow bark among other things.

Bad: Unfortunately, all of this does not actually equal out to killing off acne. They have oils, but not even proven antioxidants, let alone proven acne fighters. This means that you will have to find something else, because while it’s a nice sentiments, sentiments don’t really get you anywhere on their own. They don’t even begin to address the real problem.

Overall: We would not recommend using Boscia Clear Complexion Kit. It doesn’t help you to achieve greater results, and it doesn’t help you to get greater benefits as a whole. It will just frustrate you. The only good side to all this is that it won’t actually harm you skin along the way. But that’s little reward.

14. Clean & Clear Advantage

Clean & Clear Advantage is their answer to the struggle with the common 3 step program to fight your acne. They claim it provides a comprehensive solution to your growing problem while also beating out products like Proactiv according to clinical studies. But in fact, there are no product specific studies at least not in over the counter products, let alone comparing them to others like Proactiv.

Good: Clean & Clear Advantage has proven ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide. They compare themselves, and frankly they have a formula that is highly similar in many ways to Proactiv. Clean & Clear is widely available through grocery store chains among others, and it can definitely clear up some cases of acne at a cheaper price.

Bad: Unfortunately, it uses benzoyl peroxide, which causes various side effects such as dry, red, and itchy skin as well as bleached out clothes. But they use an amount that is weaker than that of Proactiv, and quite frankly they don’t actually cite the study, because there is no study that would suggest their claims to be true.

Overall: This formula is nothing but common. It doesn’t provide greater results in general, and it won’t help you to get rid of any acne. Clean & Clear Advantage doesn’t actually help you to get rid of any acne, and you would easily find something better or just irritate your skin while using this particular product. It costs way too much, and there are plenty of other cheaper grocery store brands if that’s what you want.

15. Clear5

Clear5 is based on vitamin B5. They claim that this alone will cause acne, and therefore supplementing it in will clear acne all on its own, attacking an outward manifestation of an inner based problem and giving you an essential vitamin that is also responsible for other benefits along the way.

Good: They have vitamin B5. Vitamin B5 deficiencies have been proven to be at the root cause of some cases of acne, and therefore they could actually get rid of some cases of acne if you were to use them right and in other words make proper use of the benefits in general.

Bad: Clear5 does not have any other ingredients. You are actually not all that likely to be deficient in vitamin B5 because of all the differing places where you can find this particular supplement. Therefore, it won’t necessarily help quite a few acne sufferers.

Overall: This one track formula doesn’t cover all your bases or realistically even get close. It doesn’t help you to really get rid of some of your acne, and you would be better off finding a more comprehensive formula that also used proven acne fighters among other things.

16. ClearPores

ClearPores is a family of skincare products that they claim will give you a complete body and facial system that will get rid of your acne by addressing every possible cause. They claim to be #1 in every section and so powerful that you could not possibly fail by any means.

Good: ClearPores has external scrubs as well as internal supplements to help you to get rid of your acne. Attacking acne from the inside can in the right case actually get rid of acne all on its own. But it’s certainly not a bad idea to use an external scrub, especially one with some level of proven ingredients, even though there are quite a variety of different ingredients.

Bad: There are no proven ingredients in ClearPores, which explains why they couldn’t just create an internal supplement to do the basic job. Frankly, there are only irritating fillers and preservatives, and it won’t help you to actually get rid of your acne in any sense of the word. You only waste your money buying a different kit for your body, and the only real difference is a bigger bottle.

Overall: We would not recommend wasting your time and money on ClearPores. It doesn’t help you to achieve greater results, and it doesn’t help you to get rid of any of your acne. ClearPores is just another waste of your money, and you would be far better off finding something else that would actually work.

17. Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing

Clinique Acne Solutions Spot healing is meant to apparently clear your zits individually speaking when they pop up. So it’s used on an as needed basis. It can be found in many department stores across the country, and it is a highly popular product to some degree, especially being sold for just few dollars as compared to other department store products.

Good: Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing is based around salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a proven ingredient that basically sheds away dead skin cells at an accelerated rate, and it helps you without actually causing side effects or otherwise causing skin irritation in general.

Bad: Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing unfortunately does not list all its ingredients or the amounts meaning that it doesn’t even have the small yet effective proven amount of salicylic acid, and it definitely doesn’t have the other ingredients to help. It probably has irritants in the form of preservatives, and it won’t help with your acne.

Overall: You could get a salicylic acid based product at your local grocery store. It helps, but only in the proven amounts which they don’t have, and quite frankly they lack quite a few things that would be necessary to actually producing results in general. We would therefore recommend finding something else that works better.

18. DDF Pumice Acne Scrub

DDF Pumice Acne Scrub comes from a well known company of the Doctor’s Dermatological Formula. They are well known for producing results that actually work and better formulas in general terms as compared to some other products. They are also known for fairly higher prices and selling in department stores across the country.

Good: DDF uses a proven ingredient known as benzoyl peroxide. This ingredient will kill off bacteria and otherwise kill off zits and acne in general. DDF also uses a blend in general that will kill off your acne in most cases and otherwise help you to achieve results, which we would expect from DDF.

Bad: Unfortunately, frankly benzoyl peroxide can quite literally be found in just about every product out there, and most of them are cheaper than DDF Pumice Acne Scrub in general. All benzoyl peroxide products are basically the same in many ways and in their results or lack thereof in some cases, and they all cause side effects that just make it worse in so many ways.

Overall: We would not recommend using DDF Pumice Acne Scrub. It doesn’t help you to achieve better results, and it doesn’t help you with anything in general. You would be far better off finding something that would actually work, and to be quite frank, there are far better options as a whole if you just take the time to look elsewhere.

19. Differin

Differin is an easy to apply prescription medication. It helps you to get rid of your acne and achieve better results in general terms. Differin can kill off bacteria, and it comes in either gel or cream form. It uses a 0.3 or 0.1% of adapalene, and as far as we can tell they were the first to use it, claiming to give you the truth about acne and help stop it before it starts.

Good: Differin uses a proven ingredient, and they even give you a coupon on their site to help you to get what they call a free trial. It is apparently the #1 prescribed medication by dermatologists, and it doesn’t use benzoyl peroxide, which is often cheaper in grocery store products rather than bothering to buy prescription options.

Bad: Unfortunately, adapalene still causes serious problems with the skin quite similar to benzoyl peroxide actually and including dermatitis in general. This formula doesn’t always cause results, and it takes weeks to show even the slightest of results, making it so that you can’t even see results in the time that they give you in their “free trial offer.”

Overall: We would not recommend using Differin. Basically, it has to use such a small concentration and sell exclusively through prescription because the side effects are actually far worse than others like benzoyl peroxide. It won’t always give you the results you want, or for that matter the results they promise, and you would be required to use this product for several weeks before even knowing for sure.

20. Dr Brandt Skincare Pores No More

Dr Brandt Skincare Pores No More is a temporary solution meant to shrink the size and appearance of the pores so that you can get rid of your acne. They base their formula around certain ingredients and they claim its powerful formula will even permanently change the skin to look better, not just in terms of acne, but in general terms.

Good: They use some proven acne fighting ingredients that could also potentially shrink the pores such as tea tree oil. These ingredients could give you the right results if they used them in the right amounts, and you could potentially see other results outside of just clearing your acne.

Bad: Unfortunately, all of these ingredients are common, and they don’t actually use the right amounts. As far as getting rid of your acne or even reducing the size of pores, it will not work in any way, and you would be far better off finding something else that would. In addition, though some of its main ingredients are meant to work without side effects, some of their preservatives undermine that to say the least.

Overall: We would not recommend using Dr Brandt Skincare Pores No More. It doesn’t give you the results you are looking for, and it really doesn’t help you to get rid of acne in general. This formula will only damage your skin, even though it gives a good first impression among other things.

21. Epiduo

Epiduo is a prescription medication claiming to give you the ultimate results in clearing your acne and the facts. They claim even mild acne to be a medical condition, and therefore you can really only treat it using a prescription medication. They have a whole commercial and site dedicated to this idea and frankly this myth.

Good: Epiduo has proven ingredients. They use 2 ingredients in fact including benzoyl peroxide and adapalene in 1% and 2.5%. They claim that this will get rid of your acne within just weeks and give you all the results you are looking for. In fact, they make various claims about this.

Bad: Their idea, their whole premise is a myth. You don’t have to get a prescription, and frankly most over the counter drugs use prescription benzoyl peroxide. This negates any idea they may have had. But the fact that they don’t even use the clinically proven 5% of benzoyl peroxide definitely undermines all their possible claims from the past.

Overall: We would not recommend using Epiduo. It doesn’t give you the results you are looking for, and it doesn’t help you to get rid of any of your acne. Epiduo doesn’t help you with any of your greater needs in general, and you would be far better off finding something else that would give you the better results and frankly the proven amounts you need.

22. Exfozit

The Exfozit facial scrub is a powerful 1 step system to get rid of the bacteria and oils causing your acne among other things without stripping your skin or damaging it with harsh minerals, alcohols, or parabens. They claim it will cleanse, exfoliate, renew, and revitalize your skin with this one easy step, even after just one use.

Good: Exfozit actually comes with a number of proven ingredients. These ingredients will first of all of course get rid of your acne and the bacteria that causes it. But they will also reduce inflammation, improve the skin, supplement, and otherwise help you to achieve greater results as a whole.

Bad: Exfozit has no bad side.

Overall: Exfozit is a powerful scrub, and frankly it can be found coupled with other products or on its own at rather affordable prices to say the least. It is capable of helping you to quickly and effectively get rid of your acne, and many have reported results that they never saw with anything else. This is not at all surprising considering the formula, but many continue to be amazed by it.

23. Exposed Acne Treatment

Exposed Acne Treatment is apparently supposed to give you the results you want in general terms and expose your skin to the acne treatment and clear possibilities that it needs. They claim that you can choose between buying individual pieces or you can buy a whole 5 or 6 piece kit, and it will help you to get the results you are actually looking for.

Good: Exposed Acne Treatment has 2 proven ingredients: salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. These ingredients can help you to potentially get rid of your acne, and they claim that you will get the immediate results. They also use different pieces, which many have found to actually do a better job than just relying on one singular piece in general terms.

Bad: They don’t give you a full ingredients list on products in general, and frankly these two ingredients can be found in just about any product. The idea of salicylic acid is to avoid causing side effects among other things while still getting rid of your acne. But of course benzoyl peroxide negates that benefit while causing various side effects among other things.

Overall: This formula doesn’t likely have the right amounts that are actually proven to give you the results you are looking for. It doesn’t help you to clear up acne or get any better benefits in general terms, and you would be far better off finding something else that in general terms does actually work.

24. Freederm-HC

Freederm-HC is a product meant to treat your eczema, heal dermatitis, and work with no side effects and no steroids. It can be used on any age group and apparently works without oily residue or odor with thousands of satisfied customers worldwide.

Good: They sell through hundreds of different retailers across the internet and across the United States, meaning you won’t have trouble actually finding this particular product. Moreover, they use aloe vera, which can accelerate the skin’s rate of healing to prevent scarring among other problems.

Bad: They don’t actually have any active acne fighting ingredients, and realistically speaking, this formula will not actually provide you any greater benefits in general. It will probably clog your pores and cause worse acne if anything at all, because it uses heavy moisturizers like shea butter along with irritants that will cause symptoms of dermatitis instead of healing them.

Overall: We would not recommend Freederm-HC. It doesn’t give you the results you want, and it doesn’t help you to get rid of any skin problems in general terms. Freederm-HC doesn’t live up to a certain standard in any way, and we would not recommend bothering with it, whoever you may be.

25. HealthyPores

HealthyPores is a 3 step program made to fight your acne. They claim it uses 2 major ingredients and will not actually cause side effects, but it will quickly get rid of your acne among other things. They claim that this will help it to beat out all other competitors and soothe the skin at the same time for the results you want and need.

Good: HealthyPores has 2 proven ingredients including salicylic acid and tea tree oil. Salicylic acid makes the skin cells shed away at an accelerated rate while tea tree oil works as an antiseptic and antibacterial. However, the difference is that these ingredients unlike benzoyl peroxide really will not cause side effects or other problems.

Bad: HealthyPores doesn’t actually have the right amounts of these ingredients or rather the right concentrations. It doesn’t name them, and frankly they don’t even provide a full ingredients list. You can tell if products list their main ingredients at the top or bottom of the list about how much they use. But they don’t even actually give you this benefit.

Overall: This formula won’t actually give you results. It doesn’t have the right amounts of the right ingredients, and it really doesn’t have anything else to offer you in general terms. This formula is lacking in so many ways, and though the ingredients are good, you could without question find something else that works more effectively with the real concentrations needed.

26. Lipovox

Lipovox is a multi directional formula. It uses the top 10 superfoods as its main and active ingredients, and they claim this will promote weight loss, glowing skin, and acne free skin all in one along with greater energy among other things. They claim that this has its own merit and will help you to finally regulate your own body.

Good: Lipovox has the top 10 superfoods. These have been proven to give you greater results in general, and they are truly good for your system and your body. They use powerful antioxidants which may kill off bacteria and free radicals as well as vitamins which may supplement existing vitamin deficiencies, which would contribute to acne in general.

Bad: They don’t use conventional acne treatment ingredients.

Overall: We would definitely recommend considering Lipovox. It’s not a bad formula, and without question, it has definite potential. It could help you to clear up your acne and see various other benefits, and it would be highly recommended to use this particular formula for your greater needs.

27. Mario Badescu Acne Control Kit

Mario Badescu Acne Control Kit is meant to be a milder acne treatment to keep everything under control. It uses several pieces including 2 lotions, a cleanser, a mask, and a cream to clear away your acne and give you the results you are looking for.

Good: Mario Badescu is a well known line, and frankly it is well preferred, because individually speaking the products are rather cheap on a general basis, and this is highly prized by many individuals for obvious reasons. They have salicylic acid, which is proven, and it will peel away excess skin cells to give you greater results in that regard.

Bad: They don’t actually provide a full ingredients list which would at least give you an idea of how much they use of the individual and more important ingredients. It also tells you that they have quite a few preservatives that often work as potential irritants, which is never realistically a good thing. These products are not well known for actually working, and it’s no surprise.

Overall: We would not recommend the Mario Badescu line in general. It doesn’t use products or ingredients that actually give you the results, let alone in the amounts they use. They hide a lot of the details, and they don’t really give you a lot of things that you would need for better results as a whole.

28. Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit

The Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit claims to give you the results you want so that if you have a sudden breakout or if you have some nasty zits that have popped or otherwise, you can repair them and in many ways prevent scarring and other issues in general. They claim to use drying lotions and creams among other things to give you these improved results.

Good: The Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit uses the proven salicylic acid, and it keeps it simple taking it down to 3 pieces instead of the 5 found in their control kit. They are often publicized through radio stations and otherwise salon experts who seem to like their product to some degree.

Bad: Unfortunately, the general public doesn’t seem quite as fond as salon experts and so on. When they actually use it, evidently it doesn’t give the results you actually are looking for and expecting when you buy it. They use one of the most common ingredients you can find just about anywhere, and frankly they use quite a few irritants that may even cause more acne. In addition, they never use the right amounts.

Overall: If you want a salicylic acid based product, that’s not a bad thing. Salicylic acid can be a good thing to say the very least. However, you have to be sure to get the right amount Just as you would with any other ingredient. Otherwise, you will never actually get the results you are looking for, and it won’t help in general terms. This product does not live up to that standard, and it won’t help you to achieve better results.

29. MD Skincare Skin Happens Clear Up! Kit

MD Skincare Skin Happens Clear Up! Kit is apparently supposed to clear up your acne for better results as a whole. They claim that using a facial peel, blemish solution, and spot treatment among others, you will be able to treat and prevent future breakouts while using proven ingredients and selling through various outlets for your convenience.

Good: They are sold through various outlets. There are multiple third party retailers so you can always get better prices, better customer service, and in other words better solutions in general outside of the formula. The formula itself of course does not change.

Bad: They don’t list ingredients, which means that they likely don’t actually have proven ingredients at all, let alone do they have the right amounts. It also means they have quite a few harmful ingredients that realistically have no place in this or any acne fighting formula. One retailer even admitted that they did not actually have the ingredients list themselves.

Overall: We would not recommend using MD Skincare Skin Happens Clear Up! Kit. It doesn’t give you the results you are looking for in general terms, and it doesn’t help you to clear up your skin in any way. This formula won’t give you anything you realistically need, and you would be far better off finding something else that would use proven ingredients and otherwise work.

30. Metrogel

Metrogel is a prescription antibiotic meant to mainly treat rosacea, though in pill form it can also be used to treat infections in other areas of the body and otherwise. It comes in cream and gel forms and can treat chronic redness, bumps, and irritated eyes, cheeks, nose, chin, or otherwise areas that might be afflicted by the bacteria suspected of being responsible for rosacea.

Good: They have various uses for it, and it has been known to clear up rosacea in some cases. Otherwise, it would not actually be a prescription. It decimates bacteria that could also be associated with acne, and therefore it has greater potential in general terms.

Bad: Metrogel can actually cause some of the redness, peeling, irritation, and sensitivity commonly associated with rosacea itself. It also causes obviously side effects commonly associated with other harsh treatments, which is never a good thing. There are plenty of antibacterials and otherwise that do not cause these problems.

Overall: We would not recommend using Metrogel. It doesn’t really have the right ingredients, and it doesn’t have the right method of action to get rid of acne in general, let alone acne rosacea. This formula will not help you, and you would be far better off finding something else that would work.

31. Murad

Murad is a popular acne treatment sold through TV infomercials and now through the world wide web. It has been sold to millions of consumers worldwide, and they all seem to keep buying it, or at least at an exponential rate large enough to keep selling their products in general to the public at large. They claim it will clear acne better than Proactiv.

Good: They have some proven ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide which can potentially fight acne and give you the results you want. They are also fairly widespread, making it easy to buy.

Bad: Their ingredients cause irritation and various other problems in general. This can lead to skincare issues as a whole and many consumers who don’t actually like the product. But the big problem with Murad is that it is so common that you can find this exact same product just about anywhere else, typically at a lower price. So this doesn’t help anyone and it definitely doesn’t keep consumers happy, especially with low results and many side effects generally speaking.

Overall: We would not recommend using Murad. It doesn’t have anything special to offer you, and frankly it doesn’t help you to get rid of acne any better than the cheaper alternatives you could get at the grocery store. With all the side effects among other things considered, there are far better choices that you can find anywhere else.

32. Neostrata

Neostrata was started by Dr Van Scott and a Dr Yu. They claim it uses AHA’s and BHA’s to get rid of your acne and give you the solutions you are looking for every day. They also claim that you can get a complete line of products to meet your every need instead of just relying on one to do the whole job all by its lonesome.

Good: They have a variety of products and quite frankly these could contribute to a more complete overall formula. In addition, AHA’s and BHA’s have been known to have some effect on acne and the skin in general to give it a greater condition.

Bad: A number of different skin problems, side effects, and other issues have been associated with and reported with Neostrata products. This is not surprising considering all the side effects associated with hydroxy acids in general. However, they do not actually seem to report results in general terms.

Overall: We would not recommend using Neostrata. It doesn’t help you with your greater solutions, and it won’t help you to get rid of any of your acne. It is nothing but ordinary, and you would be far better off finding something else that would actually work.

33. Orovo Acne

Orovo Acne is a top acne solution giving you an internal supplement that combines the top 10 superfood with the power of other ingredients in general to give you results that are unmatched and certainly unbeaten by the high majority of products in general. They claim that you will be able to get rid of your acne and repair your skin all in one.

Good: They use the top 10 superfoods along with other ingredients to actually detoxify, supplement, and balance out the body in general terms. All of these ingredients combined could easily get rid of your acne while also giving your body other benefits that you might not have previously expected when looking into an acne treatment in general terms. In addition, the best retailers send along a bottle of their amazing Exfozit scrub and Acnevva acne fighting gel to help along the way.

Bad: Orovo Acne really has no bad points.

Overall: This formula is amazing by itself. But with the outer products they send to clear acne even more quickly and give you other results in general terms, you cannot lose with Orovo Acne. It will not harm your skin, and you will not find anything better to truly do the job and give you the benefits you need.

34. Oxycerin

Oxycerin is the world’s first acne fighting serum that utilizes the power of the clinically proven 5% tea tree oil. They claim that they use the power of Mother Nature’s most powerful ingredients in general terms to get you the results you want and need and benefit your skin as a whole.

Good: Oxycerin uses 5% tea tree oil. This has been proven to be effective time and time again and has also been proven to be as effective as 5% benzoyl peroxide without causing side effects at all. Its other ingredients work to soothe and heal the skin, and they use the best concentrations of those as well to give you the total results you are looking for.

Bad: This formula relies mostly on one ingredient.

Overall: Frankly, most products have to use various ingredients to do the job and to cover your bases. But when your one main ingredient is as powerful as tea tree oil and you actually bother using the clinically proven amounts, that problem is entirely negated to say the least. Oxycerin lives up to its name and its promises and that is the reason why they have so many satisfied customers.

35. Panoxyl

Coming in several different forms, Panoxyl’s main form is a bar soap with 10% benzoyl peroxide, though you can also get 5% if you want. This formula is easy to use on all of your body or certain parts of your face if you want, and it has been quite popular and around for a number of years longer than most other products.

Good: Panoxyl has 10% benzoyl peroxide. This is clinically proven to produce greater acne fighting results and kill off bacteria for greater benefits in general. This formula is easy to use across the whole body if you would also like to fight body acne, and it is appropriate for most skin types to a certain degree.

Bad: Panoxyl can cause side effects such as redness, itching, drying, peeling, and other various problems due to benzoyl peroxide in general. However, with such a high concentration of benzoyl peroxide, the side effects are far more likely and they are likely to be far more severe as well than you would find with other products in general.

Overall: We would not recommend using Panoxyl. It doesn’t give you the results you are looking for, and it doesn’t help you to get rid of your acne as a whole. Panoxyl doesn’t live up to a name in general that you would want to treat your acne, and you would be better able to find something that would work somewhere else.

36. Perricone MD Skincare

Perricone MD Skincare is the line of skincare and acne fighting products with one specific kit meant to fight your acne. They have a collection including a cleanser, toner, spot treatment, and moisturizer, and apparently it’s meant to give you all the results you are looking for while paying mostly for the comfort of the famous Perricone name.

Good: This formula has some proven ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, green tea, and aloe vera. These can kill off bacteria, free radicals, and accelerate the skin’s natural rate of healing in general to help you to achieve better results.

Bad: Unfortunately, this formula is extremely ordinary at best and insufficient at worst. They don’t have the right amounts, and the ingredients they use can be found in just about any other supplement. They cause various side effects, and though you would expect better from the Perricone name to be sure, it doesn’t live up to it.

Overall: You could pay far less for this product line were it not to have the Perricone name. Frankly, you should be paying far less. You aren’t meant to actually get the results you are looking for, and you would be far better off finding something else.

37. Peter Thomas Roth Acne Treatment

Peter Thomas Roth Acne Treatment is sold exclusively through third party retailers, and they have about 5 different pieces including a mattifying gel, a spot treatment, an oil free moisturizer, and a AHA/BHA acne clearing gel for your greater needs using natural ingredients.

Good: This formula and kit sells through various different third party retailers. This means that you can get a variety of options in pricing, money back guarantees, customer service, and otherwise companies to buy from. They also have all natural ingredients, and hydroxy acids in general have been shown to show greater results as a whole.

Bad: Their ingredients do not really fight acne. AHA’s and BHA’s are still being studied to some degree, and so far they cause more side effects than results. As far as vitamin C, vitamin E, and aloe vera are concerned, aloe vera could cause the skin to heal at a greater rate. But they cannot get rid of acne on their own.

Overall: They spread themselves across several different products for a reason. They well know that their products don’t work. They just expect that you will pay more money hoping for at least one piece that will. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite work that way with this formula, and we would highly advise staying away from it.

38. Proactiv

Proactiv solutions give you a popular 3 step solution made to give you the optimum results in acne fighting, because it was developed by 2 dermatologists who were reportedly sick of the prescription industry that did not actually work and only caused greater frustration. They have quickly become popular and the best known acne treatment across the country.

Good: Proactiv has benzoyl peroxide, which is commonly used in prescriptions and over the counter products across the world, and they use appropriate and effective amounts. Their 3 step system has truly sparked a revolution, and frankly they have various other pieces such as a green tea moisturizer and a tightening mask that help in some ways.

Bad: This formula has been known for its side effects, mostly those associated with benzoyl peroxide. It is common at best and sells due to the hype, not due to the facts. As far as their claims about what the dermatologists had decided upon, it is used in the majority of prescriptions. So the question becomes – how is that really supposed to be different?

Overall: We would not recommend using Proactiv. It doesn’t have the right ingredients to be original, let alone to be effective in many individuals, and for so many who have already tried benzoyl peroxide before and failed, it was a considerable disappointment to say the least. It is definitely far too expensive.

39. Pronexin

Pronexin is a topical acne treatment scrub that claims to address all the major causes of and problems surrounding acne. They claim it uses all natural ingredients to give you the best results and supplement, heal, moisturize, and otherwise clear your acne of problem zits in general. They claim it to be the only revolutionary one step formula to actually clear it in even 72 hours.

Good: Pronexin uses 33 of Mother Nature’s best acne fighting and skin nourishing ingredients. It will clear most acne in 72 hours, and it will keep going from there to supplement, heal, and improve your skin in general terms. This formula will quickly get to the root cause even drawing toxins out of the body, which no other external supplement can do, and it will give you results you would never see with any other solution.

Bad: Nothing.

Overall: We would highly recommend Pronexin. It is capable of greater things and it can definitely help you to clear up your acne to get the greater results in general that you want. This formula is better than all others, and you couldn’t find anything that would provide more impressive or comprehensive results.

40. Retin-A

Retin-A is a prescription form of vitamin A or retinoids that is also known as tretinoin. It causes dead skin cells to shed away at a higher rate while also thickening the epidermis over time, which can cause future maintenance and future benefits in general.

Good: This product provides natural exfoliation therefore getting rid of cells that may actually be clogging the pores unnecessarily because they have built up over time. They use a considerable concentration of a powerful and proven ingredient, and it is easily accessible.

Bad: This product causes side effects such as dryness, redness, swelling, peeling, itching, and dermatitis among others. Retin-A is not made for your greater benefits and success, and frankly it can cause greater outbreaks, at least in the beginning. If it does work, it takes weeks at a time to work.

Overall: There are certainly faster working products that also don’t require the side effects that go along with it or for that matter greater outbreaks. It is ridiculous how this product works in general terms, and without question there are better options. You would be far better off finding one of them.

41. Sharkne

Sharkne is a cream featuring the proven ingredient called alpha hydroxy acids in their formula. They base their entire formula around this and apparently claim that if you use it for several months, you will see optimum results for your efforts according to clinical studies.

Good: AHA’s have been proven to work in various clinical studies. They can show greater results, and they can definitely help you to get rid of your acne and otherwise have other benefits that you would not necessarily see with other products in general.

Bad: Unfortunately, quite a few products have this same potential. The simple question would be do they use the right amounts, and Sharkne does not. It also causes various side effects similar to those of benzoyl peroxide because of the use of alpha hydroxy acids, and it is nothing but common.

Overall: Yes, AHA’s have become the next big thing in acne fighting. But they don’t come without unnecessary side effects, and they don’t come without other problems in general terms. This formula is not made to be original or otherwise to produce greater results, and it doesn’t seem that they have the right amounts. Several months is definitely too long to wait.

42. Shiseido Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam

Shiseido Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam is sold exclusively through high end department stores and other retailers, and they claim it will leave a cooling feeling and simply wash away your acne so that you no longer have to suffer through it using all natural ingredients that could not possibly harm your skin in any way, shape, or form.

Good: They use ingredients including rosemary extract, benzoic acid, and peony root extract. These ingredients are all natural, and they don’t cause side effects unless of course you are allergic to them. They could compliment a good acne treatment in some ways.

Bad: They don’t have any acne fighting ingredients, and this leads to a direct lack of results. They predicate their claims on ingredients that don’t cleanse in essence, and they don’t actually give you a full ingredients list. So we have no doubt that they could well use a number of irritants that you just don’t see when looking the first time.

Overall: This product relies purely on its name. Shiseido Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam doesn’t help you to achieve better acne fighting or skin cleansing results, and while the ingredients they do name show it to be gentle, they don’t show effectiveness and they don’t even give you a full ingredients list to really look over. All this leads to us recommending against Shiseido Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam.

43. SkinID

SkinID is a Neutrogena set of products claiming to give you all the best results in 3 piece kits. Apparently, they give everybody individualized results, and you don’t have to worry about getting stuck with something that works for everybody but you anymore. After all, how can you get better than hundreds of different options for your needs.

Good: SkinID does have some different formulas, and they have a nice little test on their site. In addition, each formula has some proven ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and green tea along with tea tree oil. These ingredients could in the right amounts attack acne at the source.

Bad: These ingredients are all extremely common, and there are a few select formulas that seem to repeated over and over in different bottles. The only way to buy Neutrogena SkinID is through an auto ship program you probably won’t want, and frankly it’s a rip off in every sense of the word.

Overall: We would not recommend actually using SkinID. It doesn’t give you the results you are looking for, and it really doesn’t have the potential to give you greater results in general. SkinID products are just like other products you’ve already tried, they are just better at hiding it, and in some ways they are worse than other products you have already used.

44. Skin Zinc

The Skin Zinc line is based around zinc pyrithone. They claim it will clear up your acne by supplementing your skin with a cream and cleanser among other various products, citing some of these studies on their site and otherwise giving you the reassurances they think you want to see.

Good: Skin Zinc has zinc. Even if you are not deficient, zinc has been shown to clear up some cases of acne if supplemented correctly into the body and skin as a whole. There have been some studies, and they have shown greater results in some cases.

Bad: Unfortunately, the studies on zinc have not quite been as conclusive as many consumers have been led to believe. They are questionable to say the least, and quite frankly a zinc deficiency would not be your only problem in causing your acne, even if their products did actually have the proper amounts, which by the way they don’t.

Overall: Realistically speaking, these products should be extremely cheap to say the least. After all, they don’t actually have comprehensive ingredients, and they don’t have large amounts at all. They don’t provide a lot of the things you would need in general terms to see success. But they charge way too much, they don’t provide enough for real results, and they won’t help you at all.

45. Tanda Clear Acne Light Therapy Treatment

The Tanda Clear Acne Light Therapy Treatment claims to use blue light therapy in concentrated doses to help you to achieve better results in fighting your acne and otherwise getting the better results you want and deserve. They claim it is proven to kill off bacteria and therefore help you with your greater endeavors.

Good: This system will not actually damage your skin. It uses blue light therapy, not laser treatment or anything else that would burn away skin cells or anything like that.

Bad: They don’t actually have any proven mechanism of action. They would like you to think they do, but blue lights have not really been proven substantially to kill bacteria or kill off acne in any forms. You definitely don’t want to leave your old acne treatment behind for this one. And frankly, it literally costs hundreds of dollars which definitely isn’t a good sign.

Overall: This product is in no way affordable. It doesn’t have a proven mechanism of action, which we would definitely expect if they expect you to pay hundreds for one product to start up that needs regular maintenance and pieces that will ultimately cost more. We would not recommend falling for their scam.

46. Tazorac

A prescription retinoid, Tazorac works as a gel and a cream to get the job done. They claim it can be used for mild to moderate acne, and they have been the first so far to use tazarotene to clear your acne. This is an original ingredient that will only be found in a few prescription products and never in an over the counter product.

Good: This retinoid is a proven ingredient meant to clear your acne and give you greater results as a whole. This has potential to thicken the epidermis and cause dead skin cells to shed away at a higher rate for greater healing as well.

Bad: Unfortunately, this remains a prescription only ingredient because in part it causes so many side effects. Frankly, it causes many of the side effects of benzoyl peroxide but in greater severity and with more side effects in general added to it in many cases. This does not help you, and it only hurts your skin in general terms.

Overall: We would not recommend using Tazorac. It works for some, but it takes weeks at a time and causes various side effects along the way. Tazorac is not up to par with other products available now, though we are sure it was up to par in the past. It just doesn’t measure up and doesn’t give you the results you are actually looking for.

47. ThermaClear

ThermaClear is a hand held acne treatment device that apparently delivers a highly concentrated dose of heat therapy to melt away bacteria and built up oils to get rid of blackheads and problem zits in general. But they claim that this concentrated dose of heat will not actually burn the skin.

Good: At least in theory, delivering heat to an area could cause the built up and dried out oils to release themselves to some degree. This may not immediately get rid of a zit as they claim. But if you use it across the face, you could theoretically lessen your blackheads and other problems.

Bad: When you do this, you don’t actually get rid of blackheads or zits according to customer testimonials. Moreover, even if you did, you could have the same effect with a hot wash cloth rather than paying hundreds for the machine and then more for the little tips they require you to have. Overall, the prdout doesn’t work, and it also does burn the skin.

Overall: We would not recommend using ThermaClear. It doesn’t show the results you are actually looking for, and it really doesn’t help you to achieve any results at all. ThermaClear is a waste of your time and money, and you would be far better off finding something else that would actually work.

48. Tretinoin

Tretinoin is a popular prescription treatment based on the ingredient known as vitamin A or retinoids in general terms. They use it to treat acne vulgaris and keratosis pilaris in some cases and promyelocytic leukemia in other cases, and it is more commonly known as Retin-A. It can increase skin cell turnover and reduce blackheads, becoming quite popular.

Good: This formula is proven to have some effect unlike various other products. It can help you to get rid of your zits, and many have obviously found this extremely helpful in their personal battles against acne at large. They claim you will quickly get rid of acne.

Bad: Unfortunately, quickly means several weeks or a few months at a time. It does not always work, and sometimes acne worsens. Frankly, it surely causes redness, itching, peeling, and otherwise skin problems in general, and this is definitely not worth it, especially when there are other effective treatments with which you don’t have to suffer those side effects.

Overall: This formula doesn’t work the way they advertise and it doesn’t help you to achieve better results as a whole. You would be far better off finding something else, and we would highly advise that you do find something else.

49. TriClear

TriClear is a 3 step acne treatment system that will apparently use Inflacin to treat your acne without causing itching, redness, or otherwise irritation in general terms. They claim that you get a free trial offer and that basically means that in the fine print you will find that you get 14 days to cancel their annoying auto ship program before it is shipped again and again.

Good: They have a 3 piece formula. This could potentially be more comprehensive and therefore provide greater results in general. This formula uses what looks like an original formula in some ways.

Bad: The free trial offer speaks for itself. You get charged around $70 every month, and it’s not really authorized with your knowledge in general terms, most don’t read the fine print. They do this as a sneaky tactic, because they know that otherwise they wouldn’t actually see greater results. They don’t even provide a full ingredients list, and to be honest Inflacin is not a real ingredient.

Overall: We would not recommend that you use TriClear. It doesn’t help you to achieve better results, and it doesn’t give you anything that you realistically should be looking for. TriClear won’t help you to get rid of your acne, and you would be far better off finding something else with more valid mechanisms of action in general terms.

50. Vilantae

Vilantae is compared to Accutane as the internal supplement that will apparently clear your acne, reduce instead of eliminating your oil production, and you will not experience side effects such as loose stools, stomach irritation, and headaches in general terms.

Good: Vilantae is available without a prescription and it’s far less expensive. It is 100% natural and comes as they say without side effects in general terms to reduce oils.

Bad: Unfortunately, users in general do not actually report results. This formula is based on one and only one ingredient reportedly speaking, and obviously that ingredient is not enough to actually cause substantial results. There have been no side effects reported. But without results, that is useless.

Overall: We would not recommend using Vilantae. It doesn’t measure up in so many ways, and it really doesn’t have what you are looking for. Vilantae is incapable of giving you the results you want and need, and you would be far better off finding something else that would provide more substantial results and proven ingredients.

And finally, the bonus review:

51. Zeno

Zeno is a product based on the idea that you can use a handheld electronic device that will deliver a concentrated dose of 120 degree heat for about 2 minutes and get rid of your acne in a snap. They claim that you will be able to achieve better results as a whole and in short, you will be able to get rid of your acne once and for all while targeting zits and blackheads.

Good: Zeno doesn’t have irritating or damaging ingredients, and its small machinery is easy to handle for most people, extremely easy to use.

Bad: Unfortunately, Zeno in general is not proven to work. It’s not proven to deliver results, and it won’t help you to achieve better benefits by heat or any other method. However, with 120 degree methods, it will certainly burn your skin and leave little red spots and pock marks all over your face. These can easily closely resemble zits to say the least.

Overall: We would not recommend using Zeno. It doesn’t give you the results you are looking for, and it doesn’t help you to get rid of your acne in any way. It will just frustrate your greater efforts and actually make it harder to get rid of your acne in general. You definitely don’t need to pay hundreds for this useless little machine.
